What is a Russian manicure?
A Russian manicure is a dry, e-file technique pioneered in Eastern Europe. Instead of soaking your hands and clipping the cuticle, we gently lift and remove only the dead skin around the nail with specialised bits. The result is a perfectly clean, sharp edge that makes the nail look longer and the polish look flawless — even up close. It is the same precision technique you see in high-end nail photography.
Why book a Russian manicure in Rotterdam
Clients from across Rotterdam choose this treatment for two reasons. First, the finish is unmatched: no flaking skin, no rough edges, no polish bleeding into the cuticle. Second, products applied on top — gel polish, BIAB or acrylic — bond closer to the skin and last around 30% longer. If you want your manicure to look fresh after three weeks, this is the prep work that gets you there.
How an appointment runs at Fina Nails
After a short consultation, your nail technician shapes the nail and works through each finger with the e-file at low speed, removing only dead skin. The treatment takes around 45 minutes for a standalone Russian manicure, or it can be added to a BIAB, acrylic or gel polish appointment. Everything happens in a clean, calm room in our Rotterdam-Zuid studio.
Is the Russian manicure for everyone?
Yes — but it does demand a properly trained nail technician. Done badly, e-files can be too aggressive on the skin. At Fina Nails we have over 14 years of experience and use the technique conservatively, so you get the precise finish without irritation. It is suitable for clients with sensitive skin, frequent gel polish wearers and anyone who wants their nails to look professionally photographed.
